An awareness camp on the PC & PNDT Act was organized today at DIET Dhemaji as part of the 10th Anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme. The event was conducted by the District Social Welfare Office, Dhemaji, in collaboration with DIET Dhemaji and SANKALP: Hub of Empowerment of Women, Dhemaji.The session educated student-teacher trainees on the PC & PNDT Act, its legal aspects, and the role of educators in preventing gender discrimination. Experts and officials highlighted the need for awareness to curb female feticide and promote gender equality.The program concluded with discussions and a pledge to support the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao mission, emphasizing education as a key tool for social change.⬇️⬇️
2-Day Yoga Workshop at DIET Dhemaji
Yoga: A Journey of Self-Discovery. 2-Day Workshop at DIET Dhemaji for promoting mindfulness and well-being among student-teachers. The session started with opening remarks by Principal Mausumi Baruah Bordoloi and a welcome speech by Lecturer Indrajit Gam. Sri Pulen Das from Arogya Yoga Kendra, Dhemaji led the session, introducing yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to enhance focus, stress relief, and physical health. ⬇️⬇️
Mental Well-being Session at JNV Dhemaji
JNV Dhemaji organized a focused session on mental health for its female students, led by Mausumi Baruah Bordoloi , Principal, DIET Dhemaji.
Addressing rural adolescents’ unique challenges, she discussed academic stress, self-esteem, peer pressure, and societal expectations. Practical strategies like mindfulness, peer support, and seeking help through counselors were emphasized. The school’s warm hospitality and interactive Q&A fostered trust, empowering girls to prioritize mental wellness. The event highlights JNV’s commitment to holistic education and aligns with national efforts to normalize mental health discussions in schools.

On 25th February 2025, Junish Patir, Sr. Lecturer, DIET Dhemaji, and Mousumi Baruah Bordoloi Principal DIET Dhemaji have visited Bishnupur MES. They interacted with Head Teachers, teachers, and teacher trainees engaged in SIP activities.

School Visit on 21-02-2025
Mr. Indrajit Gam, Lecturer at DIET Dhemaji, undertook a significant visit to multiple schools in the district on February 21, 2025. During his visit, he engaged with Dhemaji MV School, Janji LP School, Telam LP School, and Telam Lakhipur LP School, where he actively participated in the morning assemblies and interacted with both teachers and students.
Mr. Gam emphasized the critical role of teachers in shaping the future of education and urged them to adopt innovative and motivational teaching practices. He highlighted the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, where students feel encouraged to explore their potential.

Ms. Kakoli Pegu, Lecturer at DIET Dhemaji and Block Academic Incharge cum Chairperson of the Block Academic Core Group (BACG) for Dhemaji Education Block, along with Mr. Indrajit Gam, Lecturer at DIET Dhemaji and Block Academic Incharge cum Chairperson of the BACG for Murkongselek Education Block, chaired the BACG meeting for February on 21.02.2025. The meeting was held at Dhemaji MVS and BMC Office, Murkongselek, Jonai, respectively.
The session focused on addressing key academic support and monitoring issues to enhance the quality of education in the region. Both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to achieve the desired academic outcomes. A 7-day workshop on the Item Development of Social Science for Item Bank organized by DIET Dhemaji under the guidance of SCERT Assam commenced on 27th January 2025 and will continue until 7th February 2025. The event is being hosted to enhance the quality of item development and promote academic excellence in Social Science.
The inaugural session was chaired by Mausumi Baruah Bordoloi, Principal, DIET, Dhemaji setting the tone for a productive workshop. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering better educational standards and preparing high-quality teaching and learning materials.
The workshop features esteemed master trainers who bring their expertise and experience to guide the participants:

Jurishmita Shyam, Lecturers from DIET Dhemaji are acting as Resource Persons.

76th Republic Day Celebration at DIET, Dhemaji on 26th January 2025
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at DIET Dhemaji on 26th January 2025. The event began with the unfurling of the Tricolor by the esteemed Principal, Mausumi Bordoloi Baruah, at 7:30 am, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with a sense of pride and unity.
The Republic Day celebration at DIET Dhemaji served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the significance of staying committed to the democratic ideals of the country.
